Pubs are always at the heart of their communities wether that is in a rural area or on the high street, they are somewhere to gather, somewhere to celebrate, to commiserate, somewhere to catch up with friends and family and we hope to make all those occasions special with truly great hospitality
A pub as old as the Ring Of Bells will have had many guises and different owners over the years and we are hugely excited to be entering a new chapter here at the pub, with John and Emma Hooker, the couple behind The Cornish Arms Tavistock and The Blacksmiths Arms Lamerton taking over the operations here at The Ring of Bells.
John and Emma will be joining forces with Richard to create an elevated and re-imagined food offering. As award-winning publicans who know how to deliver excellent hospitality, we know they’re going to be a breath of fresh air for the pub.
“We are very excited to be taking on The Ring Of Bells with Richard. It is a welcome addition to sit alongside both of our current pubs on the other side of the moor.
We will be pouring proper pints, serving great food and offering the best accommodation for our guests. You will see our DNA running through the veins of the new and improved Ring Of Bells and we can’t wait to get going.” – John and Emma Hooker.
“The Ring of Bells has been a hugely important part of my life over the last 13 years, I am hugely excited to be joining forces with John, Emma and the team. Their pedigree as award-winning publicans will take the pub to new levels and really put the Ringers on the map.” – Richard Edlmann.
In 2016 the Ring OF Bells suffered a devastating fire, it was lovingly rebuilt and restored with great care. Many original features were preserved and the spirit of the old inn lives on. The story of the fire and the careful rebuild is told in a short film, capturing the determination, craft and community spirit behind the Ring of Bells’ return.
